First time auditioning? Or need a refresher on our audition process? Here's a quick guide:

(This is a general guide for our Fall, Winter and Spring productions. Some portions or days may not be applicable to our Summer Intensive)

If you have questions please feel free to send them to: auditions@catcorona.org

  •  Auditionees need to prepare 30-45 seconds of a musical theater song or a song in the style of the show.

  • You will need to provide an instrumental track (karaoke track) preferably on a phone. (We will provide a speaker)

  • Auditionees need to arrive at least 30 minutes before their audition time slot to sign in and turn in their headshot.

  • Make sure you have submitted your audition form prior to auditions.

Saturday Dance Auditions will directly follow the Vocal Auditions.

  •  Auditionees need to be dressed to move, dance clothes are preferable. If your child does not own dance clothes, leggings and sneakers are okay.

  • Bring water.

  • Check with our office to see if there are any special shoe requirements (e.g. Tap Shoes)

  • Auditionees will go into our large dance room to be taught a brief dance combo by the choreographer. After running the combo a few times auditionees will be called in as a group to perform the combo in front of the creative team.

  • Callbacks take place on Saturday; the time is to be determined.

  • Callbacks help the creative team find the right fit between auditioners.

  • Auditioners on the callback list will be given sides and/or taught a portion of a song.

  • Once callbacks are complete, the team casts individual roles and contacts those selected.

  • A full cast list will be released, and smaller roles may be filled during rehearsals.

        Callbacks are invite only

*Roles will be announced the following Monday on our CAT News page unless otherwise stated

Junior Theatre Festival Auditions

Students aged 12-18 who are enrolled in a class are eligible to audition for our JTF team.

To audition for the JTF team, please sign up for a Mary Poppins audition slot. Attendance at both the vocal and dance auditions is required for consideration.

Please ensure you select the relevant option on the audition form to indicate your interest in being considered for the JTF team.

This year we are taking a 15 min selection from James and the Giant Peach.

What is JTF?

The Junior Theatre Festival (JTF) is an annual event that celebrates young performers and musical theatre. It is organized by iTheatrics, a company that adapts Broadway and West End musicals for young performers. The festival brings together students, teachers, and theatre professionals from all over the world to participate in workshops, performances, and competitions.
