What age can my child start classes?

CAT offers classes for students ages 4–18. Our programs are grouped by age and experience level, helping each student learn and grow alongside peers with similar interests and abilities.

Can my child take more than one class?

Absolutely! Many students enroll in multiple classes each session to explore different areas like acting, singing, dance, and musical theatre.

Do we need any experience?

Accepted Answer

Not at all! Many of our students begin with little or no theatre experience. Whether your child is stepping on stage for the first time or has years of performance experience, we offer classes designed to help every student grow. Some advanced classes and specialty programs do require an audition or instructor approval.

How do showcases work?

At the end of each Fall and Spring session, most classes perform in our Student Showcase, giving families the opportunity to celebrate everything students have learned throughout the semester. Each class performs a piece that highlights the skills they've developed in a fun, supportive performance environment.

What if we miss a class?

We understand that occasional absences happen! If your child will be absent, please notify our office as soon as possible. Because classes build from week to week in preparation for showcases and performances, we ask that students miss no more than two classes each session whenever possible.

How are students grouped?

Classes are grouped by age, experience, and skill level to create the best learning environment for every student. While age guidelines are listed for each class, instructors may occasionally recommend a different placement if they feel it will better support a student's growth.

Can my child audition for a CAT production?

Accepted Answer

Students enrolled in at least one CAT class during the current session are eligible to audition for our Main Stage productions. Additional performance opportunities, such as the Lion Club, Fall Play Production, and CAT Ensemble, may have separate age requirements or auditions depending on the program.
